About the book
Piccini is an epic of profound, dark, terrifying, and insane psychological horror. The word "Piccini" is an old Italian term for an unknown group tasked with collecting corpses from the roadsides during the Black Death and World War II. Our protagonist calls himself a Piccini because his favorite pastime is collecting, embalming, and caring for the dead in his home. Shadow sees himself as the superhero of the dead and believes it's unjust to leave them buried underground in graves. Shadow dreams of collecting as many bodies as possible, yet he doesn't kill; he's not a monster. Shadow's dark journey of collecting corpses from everywhere—graves, streets, morgues, and refrigerators—takes a dramatic turn when he buys a body from an unknown source. Upon receiving it, he's shocked to find it has no features! Shadow's life is then turned upside down, and he lives his worst nightmare, caught between his terrifying past, his unsettling childhood, and his uncertain future. What is the secret of this corpse, to whom does it belong, and into which abyss of hell will it drag our hero “Shadow”?
