About "Al-Abarat"
The book **"Al-Abarat"** is a mirror reflecting the social and psychological concerns and tragedies of Egyptian society at the beginning of the twentieth century. The book includes a collection of stories, some of which are authored by Al-Manfaluti (such as **Al-Yateem**, **Al-Hijab**, and **Al-Hawiya**), and some of which are adapted and translated from Western literature (such as **Al-Shuhada'** and **Al-Dahya**), but all of them are written in the high literary style for which Al-Manfaluti was famous.
The stories revolve around poignant and tragic themes such as loss, poverty, unrequited love, sacrifice, class conflict, and criticism of corrupt social customs. Through these stories, Al-Manfaluti aims to evoke feelings of compassion and mercy in his readers, subtly guiding them towards virtuous conduct and morality.
